He served in various locations in Canada as part of the B.C.A.P.T. He was employed with the Federal Ministry of Transport from 1947 until his retirement in 1977, mostly in Atlantic Canada. Norman now resides in Port Hawkesbury where he is a member of Branch #043. Submitted by Port Hawkesbury Branch #043. McQUEEN, James Fraser WWII James enlisted on July 21, 1941. He served in Canada and England. He was discharged on September 12, 1944. After the war, he worked in the coal mines, was a Commissionaire and was Postmaster of the local Post Office for fifteen years before his retirement. He is a 60-year member of Branch #005 Donkin. Submitted by Donkin Branch #005. MICHAUD, John Robert WWII John was born in Sheerbrooke, Guysborough Co., N.S. in 1920. He served in the Canadian Army from 1939 to 1945. He saw service in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continenal Europe. He lives in Port Hawkesbury and is a member of Branch #043. Submitted by Port Hawkesbury Branch #043. MILLER, Gerald R. WWII Gerald was born in Halifax on March 27, 1921. He joined the R.C.A.M.C. in 1942. He was stationed at the trade School in Halifax. He retired with rank of Corporal. Submitted by Calais Branch #162. MILLER, H. T. "Ted" WWII Ted was born in Smith’s Cove, Digby County, NS. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve in 1940 and spent much of the war on convoy escort duty in the North Atlantic. He served as a supply officer on several ships, including HMCS Ottawa, HMCS Granby, HMCS Drummondville, and HMCS Chaudiere. He was demobilized at HMCS Cornwallis in 1945.
