He joined the army in 1941 and served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers. He was wounded in action during the Italian Campaign. He spent seven months in the hospital and returned home in 1945. Submitted by Bear River Branch #022. PARKER, Warren WWII Warren was born on August 8, 1914. He served the Royal Canadian Army from September 1942 to March 1946 in the United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean and Holland. Warren passed away on November 6, 2004. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009. PEEBLES, Daniel Purl WWII Daniel was born on March 1, 1921 in Mulgrave, NS. He joined the Canadian Merchant Navy at age 22 years. He served wartime sea service on the Anti-airs, Lady Laurier and SS Ponoka. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the War Medal 1939-45. Submitted by Cambrai Branch #037. PERGOTSKI, Clarence WWII Clarence was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan and lived his adult life in Kentville, NS. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1944 and served until 1946. He has been a Legion member for 46 years. Submitted by Kings Branch #006. PHILLIPS, Clyde W. WWII Clyde was born on January 29, 1921 in Glace Bay, NS. He was the son of Wallace and Ida Mae Phillips. He was a PFC in the army from 1942 to 1946. In that span he served in Canada, England, Scotland, Gibraltar, Malta, Sicily, Italy, D-Day invasion, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. During this time he won several medals, including the Italy Star, France and Germany Star, and the Holland Medal. He was married to Ann (Taylor) Phillips and Kathleen (Elliot) Phillips. He worked at Russell Steel, Toronto from 1946 until retirement. He now lives in Mira Gut. Submitted by Port Morien Branch #055.
