WWII Patrick was born in Port Morien, NS on November 20, 1915, the son of George and Alice (Burke) Prendergast. He was married to Margaret Leonard. He served as a gunner in the Army during the Second World War from 1942-1945. He served in England and overseas. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #003. Patrick passed away on July 3, 1995, at the age of 79. Submitted by Glace Bay Branch #003. PRENDERGAST, R. Michael WWII Michael was born in Port Morien, NS on April 25, 1925, the son of George and Alice (Burke) Prendergast. He was married to Isabel Carter. He served in the Reserve Army, Cape Breton Highlanders, 2nd Battalion, during the Second World War from 1942 to 1945 in Canada. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #003. Michael passed away on October 17, 2003. Submitted by Glace Bay Branch #003. PRENDERGAST, Thomas A. WWII Thomas was born in Port Morien, NS on June 1, 1921, son of George and Alice (Burke) Prendergast. He joined the army in 1940, at the age of 18, and served as a private in the Argyle Sutherland Highland Regiment (Princess Louise’s), first in the artillery and then in the infantry. He served in Belgium, Holland and France. He was killed in the last major battle in Belgium on September 9, 1944. He was 23 years old. He was married to Mary MacLellan. He lies buried in a foreign land. Submitted by Port Morien Branch #055. PRITCHARD, Gregory WWII Gregory was born in Grimsby, England in 1922 and lived there until moving to Canada in 1947. Greg served in the Merchant Navy in many theatres of war from 1937 to 1945 and continued on until 1961. After going to University in Halifax, N.S. Greg was ordained as an Anglican Clergy and has resided in Lunenburg County, N.S. since. Greg has been for 37 years, since 1968, the chaplain for Branch #049, Mahone Bay Legion and still remains active in all the Branch’s Affairs. Greg was also honoured with a Doctorate from A.S.T. Submitted by Mahone Bay Branch #049. PROSSER, Earl G. WWII Earl served the Royal Canadian Navy as a Wireless Operator aboard Frigate, HMCS Levis. He also was involved in convoy escort in the North Atlantic from 1943-45. Submitted by Cambrai Branch #037.
