www.ns.legion.ca 123 Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion RANDALL, Edward "Ted" WWII Edward was born in England in 1905. He moved to Canada and lived in Kentville, N.S. He enlisted with the Army in1939 and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers at various stations in Canada. He was discharged in 1945, after which he was employed at Camp Aldershot until his death in 1962. Submitted by Lumsden Branch #074. RANKIN, Ian(photo unavailable) WWII Ian was born on September 1, 1911 in Port Morien, NS. He was the son of England and May Rankin. He graduated from the Officers Training Center in Brockwell, Ontario on July 11, 1942. He served in Prince Rupert and St. John’s, NL from 1939 to 1945. He was married to Florence Landry. Ian passed away on November 18, 1998. Submitted by Port Morien Branch #055. REEVES, Jack L. WWII Jack was born at Gaspereau, N.S. in June 1920. He joined the Canadian Army, West Nova Scotia Regiment, in 1940. He served in the U.K. Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, returning to Canada in 1945. He now resides at the V.A.C. unit, in Middleton, and is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #069, Berwick. Submitted by Berwick Branch #069. RICHARDS, Arthur G. WWII Arthur was born in Pleasantville, N.S. in 1917 and lived most of his life in the area and has resided in Mahone Bay, N.S. since the 1950’s. Arthur served in the Merchant Marines from 1938 until 1959 as Chief Engineer travelling to England carrying supplies of T.N.T. and shells. Arthur has been a member of Branch #049, Mahone Bay Legion for 53 years and still remains active. Submitted by Mahone Bay Branch #049. ROBERTSON, James Peter WWI James was born on October 27, 1883 in Albion Mines, Pictou County, NS. His family moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1889. He joined the Canadian Infantry, Manitoba Regiment, and served in Canada, United Kingdom, and Europe. He was awarded the Victoria Cross, Victory Medal, and the British War Medal. He was killed in action on November 6, 1917 at age 35. He is buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery, Passchendaele, Belgium, Lot LVIII-D-26. Submitted by Stellarton Branch #028.
