www.ns.legion.ca 147 Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion TIMMONS, Harold WWII Harold was born on September 17, 1917 in Port Morien, NS, the son of Alfred Timmons and Bessie (MacLean) Timmons. He served in the Royal Canadian Army from 1941 to 1943 in Canada, mainly British Columbia. He married Norma Gross. Harold passed away in 1986 and is buried in North Bend, Vancouver, BC. Submitted by Port Morien Branch #055. TINGLEY, Richard B. WWII Dick was born at Martins River, NS, in 1924. He joined the RCAF in 1943 and served in the Burmese Campaign in Southeast Asia as a wireless air gunner. He then went to the UK and returned to Canada in 1946. He re-enlisted in 1949 in administration and remained until 1975. Dick now lives in Wilmot, NS and is a member of Middleton, Branch #001. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001. TIPPING, Harry Curtis WWII Harry was born in Maccan, Nova Scotia on March 29, 1925. He joined the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, Canadian Army in 1943. He was awarded the War Medal 1939-1945 and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Harry was listed as Missing in Action in 1944 and his widow was awarded the Memorial Cross in his honour in August 1945. Submitted by Vimy Branch #027. TRAPP, Orin WWII Orin served during the Second World War with the RCNVR and continued his career with the RCAF. He is a member of Branch #098 Kingston Legion. Submitted by Kingston Branch #098. TURNER (MacDONALD), Doris Eva (photo unavailable) WWII Doris was born on March 31, 1924, the daughter of Alvin and Laura (MacKenzie) Turner. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 22, 1943, and was discharged on November 9, 1946. She married John MacDonald, from Ontario and they now reside in Vancouver.
