Submitted by Hants County Branch #009. WEATHERBEE, Albert M. KOREA Albert was born on November 2, 1927 in Wolfville, N.S. He served 14 months in the Korean War as a gunner, when he was injured. He was shipped to the Military Hospital at Stadacona in Halifax to recooperate from his injuries. He was later given a medical discharge from the Canadian Forces. He was a decorated war veteran. Albert passed away on June 27, 2004. Submitted by Lumsden Branch #074. WEIR, Ronald Benjamin WWII Ronald was born on June 24, 1918 in Lawrencetown, NS. He served the Canadian Army (Active),discharged February 23, 1946. He married his war bride, Julia A. (Hillier) Weir in Botwood, Newfoundland, and together they had eight children. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, and the France and Germany Star. Ronald passed away on June 9, 1982. Submitted by Family. WELTON, Charles Huntington WWII Charles joined the Saskatoon Light Infantry. He then transferred to England and served in Europe during World War II. He was wounded in action in Italy. Charles is a member of the Middleton Legion Branch #001. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001. WENTZELL, Robert J. WWII Robert was born in Indian Point, N.S. in 1928 and lived in the area after the war until 1952. Robert served with the Canadian Merchant Marines from 1944 until the war’s end in 1945. From June 6, 1944 he transferred troops from England to France at every Beach head for six months. After the war, he continued with the Canadian Merchant Marines until 1952 and then went to work in the U.S.A. until retiring in 1983, returning back to Nova Scotia. Robert joined Branch #049, Mahone Bay, 15 years ago and remains an active member. Submitted by Mahone Bay Branch #049.
