He enlisted in the RCNVR in 1941 and served in the North Atlantic on Corvettes until 1945. He returned to Canada in 1945 for discharge. Murray now resides in Middleton, NS and is a 23-year member of Middleton Branch #001 Submitted by Middleton Branch #001. CALDWELL, John Aubrey WWII John was born in Dominion, NS on March 6, 1917, the son of John and Sadie (MacDonald) Caldwell. He served as corporal in the Royal Canadian Signal Corps from 1939 to 1945. He served in Vancouver, and mainly western Canada. Among his medals are the Volunteer Star and Clasp and War Medal (1939-1945). He and his wife Marguerite live in the Mira area, NS. Submitted by Port Morien Branch #055. CAMERON, Archibald MacPherson WWII Archie was born on May 7, 1914 in Scotch Hill, Pictou County, NS. He enlisted on June 5, 1939 with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was posted to #10 Squadron, Gander, NL in August 1941. In 1942, he served at #10 Squadron at Dartmouth, NS. He would later return to Gander, remaining there until April 1944. The squadron was disbanded at Torbay, NL on August 15, 1945. His tour of duty included Canada, Newfoundland and the Atlantic. Submitted by Stellarton Branch #028. CAMPBELL, Katherine Mary “Katie” WWII Katie was born in Port Morien, NS on June 27, 1909, the daughter of Dan and Maggie (Smith) Campbell. She served as a cook in the Army during the Second World War from 1943 to 1945. She served in Halifax and Ontario. Katie passed away on May 27, 1989. Submitted by Port Morien Branch #055. CARMICHAEL, Thomas Henry WWI Tom was born on January 10, 1875 in Cambridge, Hants County, NS. He joined the Canadian Army on April 17, 1917. He passed away on April 10, 1962. He is buried in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro, Cumberland County, NS. He shares a headstone in the Hamilton Lot #414-2. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009.
