He served overseas in Holland in 1941. He was injured with a broken elbow in Holland and had to have a plate put in it. He was Honourably discharged due to injury January 2, 1945. John passed away in 1979. Submitted by Donkin Branch #005. CONNELL, Everett H. WWII Everett was born at Middleton, NS, on November 7, 1922. He joined the Canadian Army in 1940 with the West Nova Scotia Regiment and went overseas in 1942, serving in the United Kingdom, Italy and Sicily. He returned to Canada in January 1946. He worked in the U.S. for numerous years and now resides in Nictaux, NS. He is a 48-year member of the American Legion. Submitted by Family. CONRAD, Spurgeon S. WWII Spurgeon was born at Broad Cove, Lunenburg County, N.S. in 1919. He joined the Army in 1942 and did his basic training in Yarmouth and advanced training at Petawawa, Ont. He was a Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Engineers. He went overseas in 1944, and served in England, France, Belgium and Holland. He returned to Halifax in December 1945 and was discharged in 1946. Spurgeon is a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #074, Wolfville. Submitted by Lumsden Branch #074. COUSINEAU, Draton J. In 1950, DJ enlisted in the Armoured Corps with the Dragoons. He retired from the service in 1971. He is a member of the Kingston Legion Branch #098. Submitted by Kingston Branch #098. COX, Leland E. WWII Lee was born at Brooklyn, Annapolis Co., NS in 1923. He enlisted in December 1942 in the RCAF, trained at Lachine PQ, and spent 18 months at RCAF Stn. Goose Bay, then Greenwood, and Dartmouth. He was discharged in 1946. Lee now resides at Brooklyn and is a 50-year member and Past President of Middleton Branch #001. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001.
