WWII Donald was born on February 10, 1923 at Bear Point, Shelburne Co., N.S. and lived there all his adult life. He served in the Canadian Army from 1943-1946 in England, landed in France on D-Day, June 6, 1944 with the North Shore New Brunswick Regiment, served through into Germany. WWII Freeland was born on September 3, 1921 at Bear Point, Shelburne County, N.S. and lived there all his adult life. He served in The Canadian Army from 1941-1945 in Canada, U.K. Central Mediterranean Forces and North West Europe. Freeland was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #148 Clark’s Harbour, N.S. Submitted by Cape Sable Branch #148. CROWELL, Roswell P. WWII Roswell, son of the late Freeland Sr. and Jennie (Shand) Crowell was born in Woods Harbour May 19, 1920. He spent most of his adult life in Bear Point and Barrington Passage, N.S. He served overseas during W.W.II with the West Nova Scotia from 1939-45, in U.K., North Africa, Sicily (invasion of 1943), Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. He was in Liberation of Holland 1945. He returned to Canada in August 1945. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #148, Clarks Harbour, N.S. Submitted by Cape Sable Branch #148. CUSACK, Francis A. WWII Frank was born on September 5, 1919. He began his military service at Yarmouth Clearing Depot on March 20, 1941, completing his Advanced Training as Rifleman. While on his tour of duty in Holland, he was subjected to mustard gas. He was awarded the France and Germany Star. He has been a permanent resident of Camp Hill Hospital since 1965-66. Submitted by Family. DANIELS, Harold L. WWII Harold was born at Lawrencetown (Annapolis County), NS in 1925 He joined the Canadian Army, PEI Light Horse Regiment in 1944 and served in the UK, Germany and Holland, returning to Canada in 1946. He now resides in Greenwood, NS. Harold is a 38-year member of Middleton Branch #001. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001.
