She joined the Canadian Womens Army Corps (CWAC) in 1942, serving at Kitchener, Ottawa, London and Woodstock, Ontario until being discharged in 1945. She now resides in Anaheim, California. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001. GILLES, Roderick James WWII Roderick was born in 1913 and lived in Mulgrave, N.S. He served with the Merchant Navy. He was torpedoed on the way home from War on November 7, 1942. His life and name will be forever remembered. Submitted by Cambrai Branch #037. GILLES, William Alexander WWII William was born in 1916 and lived in Mulgrave, N.S. He served as a G.N.R. in the Second World War. William passed away on August 20, 1965. Submitted by Cambrai Branch #037. GILLIS, Neil A. WWII Neil was born in Judique North, Cape Breton on May 10, 1917. He volunteered for the Army in March of 1942 and served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment based in Windsor, N.S. He was assigned to various home security details within Nova Scotia until his discharge on February 26, 1946. Neil and his wife, Margaret, lived in Troy, 14 kilometers from his birth place for the last 37 years. He was a member of Branch #043 until his unexpected death in 2004, four months after the death of his wife. Submitted by Port Hawkesbury Branch #043. GLOVER, James KOREA James joined the Navy in 1951. He completed a tour in Korea on the Huron in 1953. He completed his Naval service in 1956 and joined the RCAF and retired again in 1976. he worked with Canada Post until 1995. James is a member of Kingston Legion Branch #098.
