www.ns.legion.ca 89 Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion MacKENZIE, Albert "Buster" WWII Albert was born on September 15, 1921 to Dan and Annie (Williams) MacKenzie in Port Morien, N.S. He enlisted on June 20, 1941 and served in Canada and England with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He was discharged in April, 1944. Buster married Marie (Ring) on October 16, 1946 and lived in Clemensport, N.S. until recently when they moved to Annapolis, N.S. Submitted by Donkin Branch #005. MacKENZIE, Alex WWII Alex was born in Halifax to Annie (Williams) and Dan MacKenzie on March 4, 1917. He was a veteran of the Second World War, where he served from 1940-1945. He married Irene Merit from Clemensport, N.S. and resided in Hamilton, Ont. until retiring to Clemensport, N.S. Alex passed away on April 4, 1987. Submitted by Donkin Branch #005. MacKENZIE, Dan WWI WWII Dan was born in 1882 in Wycogomaugh, Cape Breton. He served in the first World War in Sussex, N.B., and Dartmouth, N.S. during World War II. He was married to Annie (Williams) in Port Hood, N.S. and lived in Port Morien and Donkin. He passed away on February 27, 1950. Submitted by Donkin Branch #005. MacKENZIE, Daniel Murray WWII Daniel was born on December 22, 1920 in Stellarton, NS. He served the Royal Canadian Air Force 682nd Squadron in Canada, United Kingdom, and Mediterranean. At age 23, he was killed in action on March 29, 1943. He is buried at Cagliari Cemetery, Pula, Sardinia. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Aircrew Europe Star, Africa Star, with North American Clasp, 1942-43 Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal. Submitted by Stellarton Branch #028. MacKENZIE, Donald James WWII Don was born and raised in Kentville,, NS. He served with the R.C.A.F. from 1939 to 1945, serving with C.I.C. (1944). He had 37 years of Legion service at the time of his death in 2005. Submitted by Kings Branch #006.
