MAY, Bernard WWII Mr. and Mrs. Richard May from Chatham, NB had six sons who all served King and country. All served in some overseas theatre of war. Ernest was their fourth son. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery in February 1941 and went overseas in April 1942. He was a gunner, stationed in England. He came home from the war, but is now deceased. All served in some overseas theatre of war. Ernest was their third son. He was rejected by the Army in 1939, when he applied and so joined the Merchant Navy. MAY, George WWII Mr. and Mrs. Richard May, from Chatham, NB, had six sons who all served King and country and further, all served in some overseas theatre of war. George was their second son. He enlisted in October 1941 with the Dental Corp and served in Newfoundland. He came home from war, but is now deceased. Submitted by Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. MAY, James Frederick WWII Mr. and Mrs. Richard May from Chatham, NB had six sons who all served King and country, and further, all served in some overseas theatre of war. Jim was their sixth son, born on August 9, 1924 in Chatham, NB. In 1941, he joined the North Shore New Brunswick Regiment as a Clerk and was shipped overseas three months later. Throughout World War Two, Jim served in England, Scotland, Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium, Netherlands, and back to England. He was released on November 15, 1945.
