In 1940, he moved to Windsor, NS with his family. On May 28, 1942, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was shipped overseas that same spring. He flew Harvards, Gliders, Hurricanes and escorted Bombers across the channel. He was discharged in September 1945. He is retired and living in Truro, NS. Don is a member of The Legion. Submitted by Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. MUISE, Ambrose J. Korea Ambrose was born in Sydney, NS in 1930, son of the late Joseph and Alice Muise. He enlisted in 1950 with RCA, RCASC, RCEME. He served in Germany with the 27th Brigade in 1951, with the 3rd Field Ambulance in Korea, and in Germany with 2R22R from 1965-1969. He retired in 1976 and is now living in Grand Etang, NS. Ambrose is a Life Member of Cheticamp Branch #032, The Royal Canadian Legion. Submitted by Cheticamp Branch #032, The Royal Canadian Legion. MUNROE, Clyde Alexander WWII Clyde was born on January 8, 1921 in Scotsburn, Pictou County, NS. He joined the Pictou Highlanders in September 1939. He served at various military bases, such as: Mulgrave, NS; Dartmouth, NS; and Valcartier, PQ. He was posted to Debert, NS for overseas duty. He arrived in the United Kingdom on December 1, 1943. On January 6, 1944, he transferred to the North Nova Scotia Regiment. He embarked for the United Kingdom on June 2, 1944 and was disembarked in France on June 6, 1944. Clyde was killed in action on July 8, 1944 at the age of twenty-two. He is buried at Beny-Sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery in France. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, France and German Star, Defence Medal, C.V.S.M. and clasp, and the War Medal. Submitted by Stellarton Branch #028, The Royal Canadian Legion. MURPHY, A. L. WWII A.L.
