www.ns.legion.ca 119 Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion NEILY, Norah P. WWII Norah served the Canadian Women’s Army Corp during World War Two. She is the daughter of Major and Mrs. M. P. Neily. She served in England. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001, The Royal Canadian Legion. NEILY, Ronald P. WWII Ron was born in Spa Springs, NS in April 1924. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in June 1943, and served in the United Kingdom and on the continent. Flying Officer Neily returned home in 1945, rejoined for duty in the Pacific and was discharged in 1946. He now resides in Wheatly, Ontario. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001, The Royal Canadian Legion. NEWCOMB, Frank Edward WWII Frank was born in Hantsport, NS in 1904, and lived in Hantsport all of his life. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1941, and served aboard HMCS BRANDON Corvette in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean area. He was discharged on May 8, 1945, and was awarded the C.P.O., Oak Leaf, and the King’s New Year’s Honors 1945. Frank was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for twenty years when he passed away. He is buried in River-Bant Cemetery in Hantsport. Submitted by Lucknow Branch #109, The Royal Canadian Legion. NICKERSON, Belmont Gerald WWII Belmont was born in South Side Cape Sable Island. He joined the Army on November 16, 1943 in Halifax. He served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. His theatres of service include the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. He received injury to his shoulders, neck and back when the tank he was in was hit. Medals he received are: the King George IV Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and clasp, and the France-Germany Star. Submitted by Cape Sable Branch #148, The Royal Canadian Legion. NIXON, Reagh G. WWII Reagh was born at Nictaux, NS in 1922. He joined the Canadian Army Third Anti Tank, and served in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. He returned to Nictaux in 1945, and now resides at the V.A.C. unit in Middleton. He is a past member of Middleton Branch #001 and Annapolis Royal Branch, The Royal Canadian Legion.
