He served the Royal Canadian Army with Black Watch, North Nova Scotia Highlanders in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany from 1943 to 1946. He was discharged in 1946 and re-enlisted in 1951, serving in Germany with NNSH. He was transferred to Black Watch in 1953 in Kentville until 1957, then returned to civilian life. WWII William was fromAntigonish, NS. He was killed in action on May 13, 1943 with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He is buried in Reichswa Forest War Cemetery in Germany. Before joining the Army in the Spring of 1943, he was a cook in lumber camps. He served with the Artillery Field Regiment as a truck driver on the kitchen truck. On the battlefield, the cook was killed, at which time, Ford took over the job and was then driver and cook. He served in France, Germany and England. PATTERSON, Leslie Weldon WWII Leslie was born on November 9, 1922. He served with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders from 1943-1945.
