Submitted by Calais Branch #162, The Royal Canadian Legion. AUCOIN, George Francis WWII The late George Aucoin was the son of the late Sevrin and Marie Aucoin of Point Cross, NS. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1942 and served until 1946. He served with the Algonquin Regiment in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Holland. George was a active member of Cheticamp Branch #032, The Royal Canadian Legion, and was Past President. He lived in Cheticamp with his wife before moving to Halifax in the Northwood Manor, where he passed away on April 21, 2006. Submitted by Cheticamp Branch #032, The Royal Canadian Legion. AVEY, Jean C. “Stormy” Jean was born on December 6, 1933 in Bathgate, Scotland. She served the Royal Canadian Air Force in Clinton, Ontario, St. Hobarts, QC, Metz, France. She was discharged with the rank of Law. She was awarded the Overseas Medals. Submitted by Calais Branch #162, The Royal Canadian Legion. BAKER, James E. WWII Jim was born in Westville, NS in 1924. He was the son of Edgar and Sarah Baker. During World War Two, he served as Private with the F Battery Artillery as Gunner in the Canadian Army. He served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. His decorations include the 1939-1945 Star, France & Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Jim was a member of the Overseas War Veterans Branch #035. Jim was married to Henrietta Dykens. He passed away on January 10, 1988. BARLOW, John R. “Jack” Korea Jack served with the 1st Battalion RCR Airborne and saw action in Korea in 1952.
