He served with the R.C.E.M.E. and C.F.M.S. in Korea and the United Nations. He was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Korea Medal, UN Volunteer Service Medal, UN Peacekeeping Medal, CD and clasp. Submitted by Calais Branch #162, The Royal Canadian Legion. WALKER, Eric M. WWII Eric was born and raised in Dartmouth, NS. He married Kathleen Williams. He enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in 1939, and served in Canada with postings to P.E.I., Goose Bay, and various Ontario bases. He also served four years in Germany, retiring in 1970 with the rank of Captain, after completing thirty-one years of service. Submitted by Fairview Branch #142, The Royal Canadian Legion. WALSH, Ronald E. WWII Ronald was born on October 25, 1924 in Avonport, NS. He joined the Army in September 1943, and served in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. He married Greta Smith Walsh in June 1942 and they had three children. He received the 60-year Veteran pin, the Thank You Canada Badge in 2005, the War Medal 1939-1945, the FranceGermany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Ronald is a very busy eighty-one-year-old, caring for his lovely garden of flowers. Submitted by Lucknow Branch #109, The Royal Canadian Legion. WALSH, W. E. WWII W. E. WWII Howard was born in Malden, Massachusetts, USA in 1923. He served the Canadian Army with the Sherbrooke Fusliers, Tank Regiment in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He currently resides in Porter’s Lake, NS with his wife, Velma. Howard and Velma have two children: Nancy and Bruce.
