He joined the R.C.A.F. in January 1941, and was trained in Canada as an Air Gunner, and went overseas in 1943. He flew thirty-seven bombing missions, including two on D-Day. His missions took him over France, Belgium and Germany. He returned to Canada in 1944 and served in the Forces until 1973. WILE, Gerald Maxwell WWII Gerald was born on April 30, 1911 in New Germany, NS. He served the Royal Canadian Army with No. 6 District Depot, C.A., R.C.A.F.C. in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe. WWII Paul was born on July 17, 1923 in Waterville, Hants County, NS. He served with the Cape Breton Highlanders in the United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean Area, Continental Europe and ended his tour of duty in the Liberation of Holland. Paul resides in Vaughans, Hants County, NS and is a member of Hants County Branch #009 of The Royal Canadian Legion in Windsor, NS. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion. WILLIAMS, Clyde C. Korea Clyde was born on February 17, 1927 in Halifax, NS. He served the Royal Canadian Navy aboard HMCS Nootka as a Trade Radar Technician in Korea and Canada. He was honourably discharged in 1948. He worked at HMCS dockyard on retirement. He was awarded the CD and clasp, and the Korean medal. He was a member of Elmsdale Branch #048, The Royal Canadian Legion, serving as President, Sports Officer, and Bar Manager. Clyde passed away on May 7, 2003. Submitted by Elmsdale Branch #048, The Royal Canadian Legion WILLIAMS, Frank WWII Frank was born in England, came to Canada in 1923, and joined the Canadian Army (Permanent Force) in 1927. He was honourably discharged in 1930 with the rank of Gunner. He re-enlisted in the Canadian Army in November 1930 and served in Canada, Newfoundland, and Central Mediterranean area.
