He served with the 85th Regiment 219 Battalion as a stretcher bearer in World War One. He was wounded in action at Vimy Ridge and was awarded the MM for Bravery in the Field. BLANCHARD, Joseph B. WWII Joseph was born on March 30, 1926 in Milford, NS. He served in Canada with the Canadian Technical Training Corps and the Royal Canadian Regiment as a boy soldier from January 31, 1944 until September 25, 1952. He served the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers from March 17, 1954 to July 28, 1961. Joseph now resides in Curry’s Corner, NS. He served with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment in South Africa. He died from wounds he received on June 15, 1900 in Roodevaal, South Africa. He served in Korea with the 23rd Infantry Workshop. He served a total of nine years in the service. John is a thirty-six-year member of Kings Branch #006, The Royal Canadian Legion.
