He served with the 85th Regiment 219 Battalion as a stretcher bearer in World War One. He was wounded in action at Vimy Ridge and was awarded the MM for Bravery in the Field. During World War Two, he served as a H/Captain in the Chaplain Corps. Henry passed away in Windsor, NS on June 2, 1974. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion. BLANCHARD, Joseph B. WWII Joseph was born on March 30, 1926 in Milford, NS. He served in Canada with the Canadian Technical Training Corps and the Royal Canadian Regiment as a boy soldier from January 31, 1944 until September 25, 1952. He served the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers from March 17, 1954 to July 28, 1961. Joseph now resides in Curry’s Corner, NS. He served with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment in South Africa. He died from wounds he received on June 15, 1900 in Roodevaal, South Africa. He served in Korea with the 23rd Infantry Workshop. He served a total of nine years in the service. John is a thirty-six-year member of Kings Branch #006, The Royal Canadian Legion. She enlisted in the RCAF in 1955, serving in Canada, France and Ismalia. Matti now resides in Belle Marche, NS and is an active member of Cheticamp Branch #032, The Royal Canadian Legion.
