GALLANT, Vernon Lewis Korea Vernon was born in Carleton, Prince Edward Island in 1931. He served the Canadian Army with Regiment No. A 800 414 2nd Battalion Infantry, Princess Pat’s Canadian Light. He also spent a short time in Japan. He served in Korea from 1950 to 1953. For the first time in Canadian history, Vernon was awarded the United Nations Presidential Citation for holding Hill 677 at Kapyong on April 24, 1951. He was part of the United Nations Special Force. Vernon passed away in 1991. Submitted by Family. GALLEY, Bertram James H. WWII Bertram was born on May 11, 1919 in Windsor, NS. He served with the Carleton York Regiment in England, Italy, and the Netherlands. Bertram resides in Windsor, NS. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion. GAMMON, James Henry WWII & Korea James was born on December 22, 1923 in Pictou, NS. He served the Army in Canada, Britain, Central Mediterranean area, Northwest Europe, the United States, Japan and Korea. He was discharged with the rank of Private. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Italy, France, Germany Star, Defense of Britain Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Korean Volunteer Service Medal and the UN Medal. He served as a Lance Corporal for one year and eight months. He is a Life Member and Past President of Kings Branch #006, The Royal Canadian Legion, with sixty-one years of service.
