Submitted by Cambrai Branch #037, The Royal Canadian Legion. HAGGERTY, Allister Charles Keith WWII Allister was born on February 20, 1926 in Stellarton, NS. He was a Sergeant with the Pictou Highlanders (Reserve) before joining active service in January 1943. His theatres of war include Canada, United Kingdom and Italy. He arrived in United Kingdom in June 1944. He disembarked for Italy in September 1944, and celebrated his eighteenth birthday in Italy. He was killed in action on September 7, 1944, and is buried at Ancona War Cemetery in Italy: Lot I-F-15. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, C.V.S.M. and clasp, and the War Medal. He was a member of Kingston Branch #098, The Royal Canadian Legion. Submitted by Kingston Branch #098, The Royal Canadian Legion. HARLEY, Jack C. WWII Jack was born in Halifax, NS in August 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1940, serving on mine sweepers in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean and in the English Channel. He was part of the D-Day invasion. Jack came home in 1945 and worked for DND until 1977. He is now at the Middleton V.A.C. unit. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001, The Royal Canadian Legion. HARRIS, Daisy K. WWII Daisy was born in Middleton, NS in 1921. She enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in 1942, serving at Rockcliff, Guelph and Summerside, PEI. She was discharged in 1945, as women were no longer needed at this time! Daisy now resides in East Margaretviile and is a Life Member of Branch #001, The Royal Canadian Legion.
