Rodney WWII Rodney was born in Big Hots, Lunenburg County, NS in 1924, and has lived all of his adult life in the area. Rodney joined the Canadian Army Infantry as an instructor in Canada and England. Rodney is a Life Member of Mahone Bay Branch #049, the Royal Canadian Legion. HOLLETT, Ernest WWII Ernest was born on July 11, 1917 in Burin, Newfoundland. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1940-1944 on HMCS Rayon d’Or and HMCS Arrowhead. Ernest lived in Lockeport, NS until he passed away on April 7, 2003. He was a Life Member of Lockeport Branch #080 or The Royal Canadian Legion. WWII Russell was born in Upper Northfield, NS in 1920 and lived all his life in the area, finally settling in Mahone Bay, NS. He joined the Canadian Army Infantry in 1941, and after training in Yarmouth and Aldershot was stationed in Goose Bay, Labrador in 1942. He returned to Canada in 1943 and then went on to England, France, Holland, and then into Germany until the war ended. Russell joined Mahone Bay Branch #049, the Royal Canadian Legion in 1953 and is still an active member. He now resides in Blockhouse. Submitted by Mahone Bay Branch #049, The Royal Canadian Legion. HOOPER, Elmer D. WWII Elmer was born at Murray River, PEI in 1922. He enlisted in the Canadian Army, Ordinance Corps in 1942 and served in the United Kingdom and Europe until December 1945. He came home in January 1946 and now resides in Middleton, NS. Of the four brothers who served during World War Two, Elmer is the only survivor. He is a twenty-five-year member of Middleton Branch #001, The Royal Canadian Legion. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001, The Royal Canadian Legion. HOOPER, Leonard V. WWII Leonard was born in 1908 at Pictou Island, NS. He enlisted in the Canadian Army with the Halifax Rifles in 1939 and served in the United Kingdom and Italy. He was wounded in Italy.
