He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces on June 25, 1941 in Aldershot, NS. He served in Canada, Britain, and Central Mediterranean Area. He was honourably discharged on November 23, 1945 in Halifax, with the rank of Private. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and clasp, and the War Medal 1939-45. Submitted by Donkin Branch #005, The Royal Canadian Legion. KENNY, Avon Joseph WWII Av was born in Cambridge Station, NS and lived all of his life in that area. He served in France, Holland and Germany with the West Nova Scotia Regiment from 1944 to 1947. Av was a Life Member, Past President, and awarded the MSM. He was a forty-four-year member of Kings Branch #006, The Royal Canadian Legion at the time of his death in 2005. He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945 on convoy duty from St. John’s, NL to Londonberry, Ireland. He re-enlisted from1947 to 1952. WWII Edward was born in Point Tupper, NS in 1923. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserves from 1972-1945 in Canada and the North Atlantic.
