She was a war bride. She now resides in Windsor, NS and is a member of Hants County Branch #009 of The Royal Canadian Legion. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion. LAKE, Raymond WWII Raymond was born on March 31, 1919 at Mount Denson, NS. HE wanted to join the Navy but couldn’t get in soon enough for his liking, so in 1942, he joined the Army instead. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in the United Kingdom, Sicily, Italy, Germany and Holland, returning home in 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, and now lives at the Middleton V.A.C. unit. Submitted by Middleton Branch #001, The Royal Canadian Legion. LAKE, Walter WWII Walter was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 27, 1924. He served the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp from 1941-1945 in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Walter passed away on October 6, 1971. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion. LANDRY, Sylvester WWII Sylvester was from Afton, Antigonish County, NS. He was a member of the 86th Battery and died on July 19, 1943. Submitted by Arras Branch #059, The Royal Canadian Legion. LANGILLE, E. MALCOLM “Mac” WWII Mac was born in Louisville in 1923, and at age fifteen, he joined the North Nova Scotia Higlanders. He embarked for England in July 1941 and was seriously wounded in 1944, spending one-and-a-half years in military hospitals. Mac was a Past President of Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. A long-time resident of Truro, he passed away in August 2005.
