He joined the Canadian Army with Carlton & York Regiment in 1939 and served in the UK, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany and Holland, attaining the rank of Regimental Sergeant Major. Eddie was mentioned in dispatches and received the King George VI Commendation. He returned to Canada in September 1945 and resided at Woodstock, N.B. until his death in 1984. MARTELL, Ronald Murdock WWII Ronald was born in Rockdale, Richmond Co. in 1920. He was in the Navy on the Peregrine Ship and served in Canada, the High Seas, and Newfoundland. He passed away in 1999. MARTIN, Ben Korea Ben was born in Truro, Nova Scotia in 1932. His mother was Mary Cope and he was the grandson of Sara Tracey and Joe Cope of Windsor, Nova Scotia. Ben served with the United States Marine Corp and served in the Korean Conflict. Ben currently resides in Truro, Nova Scotia. Submitted by Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. MASON, Lewis WWII Lewis was born in Tangier N.S. in 1919. He served as a Corporal in the Royal Canadian Army in England, France, Germany, and Belgium from 1939-1945.
