www.ns.legion.ca 109 Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion MCMILLAN, Stanley Yorston WWII At the age of 23 year “Stan the Man” enlisted with the R.C.A.S.C. and served in Canada and the United Kingdom. Corporal McMillan was discharged on July 27, 1946 to return to civilian life “On Demobilization.” For his wartime service he was awarded the Defense Medal, Canadian Volunteer Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal. Stan joined the Legion in 1959 and was awarded Life Membership in 1983 and was cited as Legion Member of the Year in 1990. On February 19, 1997 he was awarded the highest Legion award, the Meritorious Service Medal. Stan passed away on October 10, 2004 at the age of 86. Submitted by Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. MCPHEE, Mosher Colin WWII Mosher served with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion, R.C.I.C. as Sergeant during WWII. He was killed in action on August 25, 1944 at the age of 24 years and is buried at the Ranville War Cemetery, France (Grave reference: VA. 0. 8.). He received the Volunteer Service Medal and the 1939-45 Star Submitted by Digby Branch #020, The Royal Canadian Legion. MILLER, Bernice WWII Bernice was born in Saint John, N.B. in 1925. MILLER, Ernest Foster WWI Ernest was born in Nova Scotia in December 1873. He served in the Royal Canadian Army in Europe. Ernest passed away on July 25, 1942. Submitted by Queens. Co.
