www.ns.legion.ca 11 Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion ARNOLD, Edgar M. WWI Edgar was born in 1877 in South Alton, Kings Co., N.S. He joined the Army and served with the 6th Canadian Mounted Rifles in Canada, England, Belgium and France. He was appointed Lt. Col. in 1936 and received the Officers Colonial Medal and Veterans. Decoration Medal. He served as President of the Elmsdale Branch #48 from 1941-1946 and was the first President of Montgomery Branch #133. Edgar passed away in 1951. He served with the 23rd Field Regiment in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. He passed away in 2005. Submitted by Port Royal Branch #021, The Royal Canadian Legion. BAKER, Owen Charles WWII Owen was born in East Jeddore, N.S. in 1921. He served in the Navy aboard H.M.C.S. Margaree in the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve as Able Seaman. Owen died at sea in 1940. He is remembered at Halifax Memorial, N.S. Submitted by Four Harbour’s Branch #120, The Royal Canadian Legion. BARRETTE, Wilfred WWII Wilfred was born in Lower l’Ardoise, N.S. in 1920. He served the Royal Canadian Army with the 7th Anti-Tank in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and Central Mediterranean area. Submitted by St. Peter’s Branch #047, The Royal Canadian Legion. BATES, James Harvey WWII Jim was born on August 1, 1920. He joined the Army on November 24, 1942 and went overseas on September 6, 1943. He served with the West Nova Regiment and the 9th Field Squadron. Jim resides in Truro, N.S., where he is a Life Member of Colchester Branch #26 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
