He was a Life Member of Elsmsdale Branch #048, The Royal Canadian Legion for 50 years, and was President of the Branch from 1947 to 1948. Allan passed away in 1995. RUSHTON, Ralph Henley WWII Ralph was born in Great Village, Nova Scotia on October 24, 1921. He joined the military in June 1942 and served in England, France, Holland, Belgium and the Beaches of Normandy. Sapper Rushton was with the 23rd Field Regiment R.C.E. and was released on February 11, 1946 to return to civilian life "on demobilization." He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, France Germany Star, Defense Medal, and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. RYAN, Carson WWII "Tubby" Ryan was born in 1906. He served with the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment R.C.I.C. during WW II as Private. He was killed in action on August 8, 1944 at the age of 38 years, and is buried at the Bretteville-Sur-Laize Canadian Cemetery Calvados, France (Grave reference: XI.B.11.).
