SAMPSON, Peter David WWII Peter was born in River Bourgeois, N.S. in 1922. He served the Royal Canadian Army with the West Nova Scotia Highlanders in Italy, France, Holland and Germany. Submitted by Chedabucto Branch #046, The Royal Canadian Legion. SANFORD, Arthur O, WWII Arthur was born on June 15, 1925 in Walton, Hants Co., N.S. He joined the Canadian Army on March 3, 1944 and served in France, Belgium, Holland, and one year in the Occupation Force in Barel, Germany. He was discharged in July 1946. He married Vera Barkhouse, and resides in Walton, Hants Co., N.S. Independently submitted. SAXTON, Joseph Patrick Michael WWII Joe was born on March 11, 1926 in Halifax, N.S. He joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve at the end of 1942. He went overseas in 1943, serving in Liverpool and Greenock, Scotland. Upon discharge, he joined the Halifax Fire Department until 1949 and then went with the Naval Fire Department serving until his retirement in 1989. SCOTT, Kenneth Frank WWII Ken was born on April 18, 1921 in Toronto, Ontario. During World War II, his service unit was The Queen's Own Rifles and he served in Canada, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Ken married Jeanne Jenkins. in Brighton, England in 1945 and they have three children. Ken and Jeanne reside in Truro where Ken is a member of the RCL Colchester N.S. Branch No. 026.
