He served in the Royal Canadian Navy with the Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry in Canada and Korea. Vernon was killed in action in October 1950. Submitted by Queens. Co. He served in the Army in Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, USA, Canada, and Goose Bay, Labrador. Submitted by Clare Branch #052, The Royal Canadian Legion. WEAVER, Edward J. WWII Edward was born in St. Bernard, Digby County, NS in 1924. He served with the Carleton and York Regiments in Canada, England and Continental Europe. He went overseas in February 1945, and while in Holland, volunteered for Canadian Special Forces for service in the Pacific Theatre. He returned to Canada in July 1945. Submitted by Clare Branch #052, The Royal Canadian Legion. WEAVER, J. E. Kenneth WWII Kenneth was born in St. Bernard, Digby County, NS in 1920. He served in the Air and Merchant Navy, S.S. Point Pelee Park (Tanker). He was injured in a plane crash during pilot training, and then transferred to the Merchant Navy. Kenneth passed away in 2000. He served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment and Cape Breton Highlanders in Canada, England and Italy.
