He was killed on May 6, 1945 at the age of 24. Kenneth is buried at the Holten Canadian War Cemetery, Netherlands (Grave Reference VII. F. 13.) He served the Royal Canadian Army with the Cape Breton Highlanders in Canada, Britain, Central Mediterranean and Northwest Europe. Robert passed away in 1999. Submitted by Chedabucto Branch #046, The Royal Canadian Legion. BURGESS, Irving WWII Irving was born on February 11, 1916 in Shubenacadie, N.S. He joined the Army on March 9, 1942 and was shipped overseas on May 15, 1942. For the next 37 months he was stationed in four different places in Scotland. He was discharged on November 1, 1945. Irving now resides in Truro, N.S. and is a member of the Colchester Branch #026. Submitted by Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. BURGOYNE, Dawson J. F. WWII Dawson was born in 1909 in Mahone Bay, N.S. He joined the Army and served with the Lorne Scots in England and Italy. He was a member of the Mahone Bay Legion Branch #049 for thirty years. Dawson passed away in 1976. Submitted by Mahone Bay Branch #049, The Royal Canadian Legion. BURGOYNE, Donald A. WWII Donald was born on December 23, 1911 in Mahone Bay, N.S. He joined the Air Force and served in Iceland. After his war years, he had his own plumbing, heating & electrical business and spent his entire life in Mahone Bay, where he was an active member of the community and served in many community organizations.
