He became a Prisoner of War in April 1942. Laurel passed away in 2000. Submitted by Mahone Bay Branch #049, The Royal Canadian Legion. BURKE, Delore WWII Delore was born in River Bourgeois, N.S. in 1917. He served in the Atlantic. Submitted by Chedabucto Branch #046, The Royal Canadian Legion. BURNS, Hadley Maxwell WWII Hadley was born on March 13, 1915 at Noel Road, N.S. Just prior to Christmas 1943, he received a conscription letter, and in the spring of 1944, he was shipped overseas to Darlington, where he worked in a kitchen catering to injured officers. From there, he was attached to the 24th Canadian General Hospital in Horley, England. He was released in 1946. Hadley currently resides in Truro, N.S. Submitted by Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. BURRIL, Graham WWII Graham was born in 1917 in Yarmouth, N.S. He served as an Engineer in the Royal Canadian Army from 1937 until 1974 in Canada. Graham passed away in 2003. Submitted by Carleton Consolidated Branch #167, The Royal Canadian Legion. CADWELL, Mons WWII Mons was born in 1916 in Cape Breton, N.S. He joined the Army and served with the North Novies in Italy, France, England, Holland and Germany. He was awarded the C.V.M.S. & Clasp, France-Germany Star and Italy Star. He served at Sergeant-at-Arms at the Elmsdale Branch #048. Mons passed away in 1988.
