www.ns.legion.ca 53 Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion FANCY, Katherine Elnor WWII Katherine was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia in 1918, and currently resides in Trenton. Katherine served with the Canadian Women’s Army Corp. from 1942 to 1946. Submitted by Trenton Branch #029, The Royal Canadian Legion. FIELD, Albert E. WWII Albert joined the Canadian Armed Forces on June 4, 1940 at 19 years old. After five and a half years he was discharged. He served in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He served with the Pictou Highlanders and Essex Scottish Regiments. Submitted by Westville Branch #035, The Royal Canadian Legion. FINDLAY, John Leroy WWII John was born in Dartmouth, N.S. in 1924. He served the Royal Canadian Navy in Canada, England and France. His war years were from 1943 to 1945. He received the following medals: CVSM, 1939-45 Star, 1939-45 War Medal, and France-Germany Star. He was wounded in France in 1944 with multiple gunshot wounds. He was discharged in October 1945. He had multiple surgeries for his injuries. John passed away in 2001. Submitted by Four Harbour’s Branch #120, The Royal Canadian Legion. FISHER, Chelbert “Chuck” WWII Chuck served with the West Nova Highlanders from 1942 to 1945, and saw duty in Canada and the United Kingdom. Chuck resides in Pictou Landing. Submitted by Trenton Branch #029, The Royal Canadian Legion. FOX, Edward L. WWII Edward was born in Emerald Isle in 1924. He joined the Canadian Army and served the North Shore Regiment 3rd Division in the UK, France and Germany. He was awarded the C.V.S.M. and Clasp, 1939-1945 Star, and France-Germany Star. He was a line foreman for Nova Scotia Power and retired in the Yarmouth area. Edward passed away in 2003. Submitted by Carleton Consolidated Branch #167, The Royal Canadian Legion.
