He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada. He was awarded the C.V.S.M. Medal and Clasp. He served as President of Elsmsdale Branch #048, The Royal Canadian Legion from 1949-1950 and from 1963-1965. George passed away in 1989. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Calgary Highlanders in Germany, Belgium and Holland. He was injured three times; the third time he was injured, he lost an eye and was strapped to the outside of a plane on a stretcher being flown to France.
