He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the 5th Anti-Tank Unit in England, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star Medal, France Star, Germany Star and the C.V.S.M. and Clasp. He served as President of Elsmsdale Branch #048, The Royal Canadian Legion in 1981. He did Special Duty in Korea, and served in Lebanon, Egypt, Western Europe, Korea, Cyprus, and Vietnam in the Canadian Army. Submitted by St. Peter’s Branch #047, The Royal Canadian Legion. JAMES, Donald G. WWII James was born in Ship Harboor, NS. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard Corvette - New Westminster, Frigate - Wentworth, and Carrier - Warrior. He served the Canadian Merchant Navy aboard the Imperial Oil Tanker – Ionalite, and Freighter - Maid of Stirling. He served from 1941-42 in the Canadian Merchant Navy, from 1942-1976 in the Canadian Navy, and Fleet Air Arm & Air Force as Sailor, Aircraft Controller and Medals Specialist. He held the rank of Warrant Officer. He was awarded the following medals: 1939-45 Star, 1939-45 War Medal, Canadian Forces Decoration and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. JAMIESON, Shirley Berton WWII Shirley was born on October 26, 1921 in North Wallis. He joined the military on December 8, 1942 and was shipped overseas in July 1943. He was a Cook with the Service Corp attached to 24th Canadian General Hospital, which was located in Horley, England. Shirley returned home on March 17, 1946, and was discharged in April of the same year. Shirley was employed with the CNR for 34 years. He resides in Truro, N.S. and is a 48-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion. Submitted by Colchester Branch #026, The Royal Canadian Legion. KAISER, William B. WWII & Korea William was born in Halifax, N.S. in 1920. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard H.M.C.S. Stadacona in the Canadian Atlantic and Korea. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, Atlantic Star, Korean War Medal, C.V.S.M. and Clasp, and U.N.C.D. and Clasp.
