He served in the 1st Division West Novies in Italy, France, Germany and Holland. He received the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France-Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service with Overseas Bar, and 1939-45 War Medal. After the war, he farmed in Shubenacadie, NS, then became a licensed embalmer and was employed with Ettingers Funeral Home until his retirement. Robert passed away in 1997. She served her country and Canada well, including her time in the British Army, D-Day and the Canadian Army, among other assignments. She received the Defense Medal, War Medal, the Canadian Centennial Medal 1967, and the Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp.
