JEDDRY, Joseph Alfred WWII Joseph was born in Meteghan Station, NS, on March 10, 1921, and served with the R.C.E.M.E. Att. Elgin Regiment E Squadron in Germany, Canada, England, France, Belgium and Holland. JOHNSON, William Richard “Johno” PEACETIME William was born on July 24, 1944 in Halifax, NS. He served in the Navy with HMCS Nippagon, HMCS Bonaventure and HMCS Provider. He received a CD, Good Conduct for Leading Seaman. His honourable discharge came on April 22, 1976. After his retirement, William served on Coast Guard, Passenger Liner, Gypsum Boats, Pilot Boats and Drill Ships. Once he got his sea legs he was hooked. JACQUES, George William WWII George was born at Glace Bay, NS, on October 15, 1923, and moved to Middleton at a young age. He joined the CanadianArmy, North Nova Scotia Highland Regiment in 1941, and served in the UK and Sicily, where he was killed in action on September 20, 1943, at the age of 19 years. He is buried in the Bari War Cemetery in Italy. Submitted by Middleton Branch 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. JEREMY, Charles WWII Charles was born at Parrsboro, NS, in October 1906. He joined the Canadian Army, West Nova Scotia Regiment in 1939 and served in the UK, Sicily and Italy as a Sniper. He was wounded in the Battle of Ortona, and returned home in 1945.
