Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 105 LEBLANC, Harold John WWII Harold joined the Prince Edward Island Highlanders / Regiment de Maisonneuve and served in France, Germany, Belgium, England and Canada. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the France & Germany Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service and Clasp, the King George Medal, and the Normandy Medal. He now resides at Veterans Place at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Harold has been a Life Member of The Legion for more than fifty years. Submitted by Wedgeport Branch 155 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LEDREW, Hubert E. WWII Hubert was born in Conception Bay, NL, on September 18, 1918. He enlisted in the Army in October 1939 as an Engineer. He was stationed in Fredericton, NB, and then went to Petawawa, ON. He held the rank of Saper. During the war, Hubert was a Chemical Warfare Specialist (C.C.W.S.), and served in Holland, France, Germany and at Juno Beach. He is a D-Day Veteran. Hubert married Dorothy Digou and raised a family of three sons and three daughters by working as a diamond driller. Hubert now resides at Upper Prince Street in Sydney, NS, and is a member of Sydney Branch 012 of The Royal Canadian Legion. Submitted by Sydney Branch 012 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LETZER, Tony PEACETIME Tony was born in England in 1933 and presently lives in Western Shore, NS. He joined the Royal Air Force on April 20, 1951. Tony has been a member of Harding Branch 144 from 2005 to present. He is a member in good standing. Submitted by Harding Branch 144 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LEBLANC, Robert KOREA Robert was born in Cape Breton, NS in 1934. He served the Royal Canadian Navy in Korea. Submitted by F. E. Butler Branch 044, The Royal Canadian Legion. LEDWIDGE, Emery WWII Emery served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment R.C.I.C. He was the son of James Robert and Ida Mary Ledwidge of Goffs Halifax County, NS. Emery was killed at the age of twenty-five on Tuesday, January 2, 1945, in a landmine accident in Italy. He is buried in Ravenna War Cemetery, Italy, in the perpetual care of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Submitted by the Montgomery Branch 133 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
