He joined the Canadian Army in 1916 and served overseas. He was killed in action at Arras, France on August 26, 1918, and is buried at Drury Crucifix British Cemetery near Douai, France. Submitted by Middleton Branch 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LONGMIRE, Ernest Lee WWII Lee was born in Milford, NS, in 1919. He joined the Canadian Army and transferred to the R.C.A.F., serving four years in the UK, Africa, Egypt and Italy. Ernest passed away in 1979. Submitted by Middleton Branch 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LOMBARD, George WWII George was born in New Edinburg, NS, on July 27, 1922. He served in the Army in Canada, and received the War Medal. Submitted by Clare Branch 052 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LONGLEY, Louis V. WWII Louis was born in Paradise, NS, on January 1, 1920. He joined the R.C.A.F. as a pilot in 1940, and was killed in a plane crash over Nova Scotia on August 3, 1942. He was the younger brother of Graham who was also killed in action.
