He joined the Canadian Army, Artillery in 1941, and served in the UK, Sicily and Italy. He was severely wounded while on a secret mission behind enemy lines, but lived to return home. Kenall passed away in 2004. Submitted by Middleton Branch 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LUSSIER (MAILLET), Marion WWII Marion was born in Saint John, NB, in 1920. She served with the C.W.A.C. in Canada, and received the War and Volunteer Medals. Submitted by Clare Branch 052 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MACBURNIE, George Robert WWII George was born in Belmont, NS, on June 9, 1915. He served in the Canadian Army from December 16, 1942 to March 27, 1946 as a Driver. Areas where he served include Continental Europe, United Kingdom, and the Central Mediterranean and area. He was awarded the following medals: 1939-1945 Medal, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. George was a Life Member and Past President of the Colchester Branch 026 of The Royal Canadian Legion, before he passed away in April 1983. Submitted by Colchester Branch 026 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LOWE, Lawrence R. WWII Lawrence was born in Bridgetown, NS, on March 3, 1920. He joined the Canadian Army, West Nova Scotia Regiment in November 1941 and served in the UK, Sicily, Italy, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He returned home and was discharged on March 1, 1946. Lawrence passed away in June 1995. Submitted by Middleton Branch 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LYNDS, Ronald Trueman WWII Ronald was born on August 13, 1933 in Truro, NS. On December 4, 1942, he joined the Army at No. 6 District Depot in Truro and went to Europe in the Fall of 1943 on a troop ship and served with the 7th Canadian Reconnaissance Regiment, the 17th Duke of York’s Royal Canadian Hussars, and the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, North NS Highlanders in France, Holland, England and Germany. He was discharged on January 19, 1946, and received the following medals: 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, CVSM, Defence Medal, and War Medal 1939-1945. Ronald was an 18-year member of Colchester Branch 026 before he passed away on June 16, 1992. Submitted by Colchester Branch 026 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
