He was the eldest son of Charles and Ann Peake. He served with the 2nd Battalion of the Canadian Machine Gun Corps. Clement passed away on April 18, 1918. Submitted by the Montgomery Branch 133 of The Royal Canadian Legion. POPE, Victor Ernest William WWII Victor was born in London, England, in June 1914. He served in the R.A.F. and later, the R.C.A.F., from 1937 to 1945. Victor came to Canada in 1945 and moved to Margaretville, NS, in 1984. He now resides at VAC Unit in Middleton, NS. Submitted by Middleton Branch 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. PRIMEAU, Maurice WWII Maurice was born in 1923. He served with the Merchant Navy during World War Two. Submitted by Four Harbours Branch 120 The Royal Canadian Legion. PENNEY, Gerald WWII Gerald was born in Corner Brook, NL, on November 21, 1925. He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery in Halifax, NS, in November 1944, and was posted to Camp Petawawa for Basic Training. In May 1945, he volunteered for overseas service in the Pacific. He took further training and became qualified as an Artillery Signaler Group C, and remained with the Unit until March 1946. While doing his routine, he discovered he had Brain Cancer, so he was hospitalized and received treatment, but it was unsuccessful. He returned to Corner Brook and completed his Machinist Apprenticeship Program. He returned to Camphill Hospital in Halifax, and passed away on November 29, 1947. He was a member of the Great War Veterans Association. His mother was awarded the Memorial Cross. Submitted independently. PREST, Sterling L. WWII Sterling was born in Mooseland, NS, in 1926. He served with the Canadian Technical Training Corp in Canada. Submitted by Four Harbours Branch 120 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
