Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 191 WEATHERBY, Seymour WWII Seymour was born in 1914 in Truro, NS. He joined the military in Halifax, completed Basic Training in Yarmouth, did Advance Training in Aldershot, NS, and upon completion of an NCO course, he was sent overseas aboard the Nieu Amsterdam. Seymour served in England, at Helmsley and Aldershot. He then joined the Royal Regiment of Canada and spent two months in the front lines in France. An injury put him in the hospital and from there he was transferred to the pay office, where he served in Belgium and Holland. Seymour was then sent to Germany and in March 1945, Sergeant Seymour Weatherby was released from the military. Seymour is a sixty-two-year member of Colchester Branch 026 of The Royal Canadian Legion in Truro, NS, where he still resides with his wife of seventy-two years. Butler Branch 044 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WELLS, Francis Raymond PEACETIME Francis was born in Newfoundland in 1943 and presently lives in Western Shore, NS. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy (Regular Force) from July 28, 1960 to July 31, 1995. Francis has been a member of Harding Branch 144 of The Royal Canadian Legion from 1969 to present, where he is a member in good standing. Submitted by Harding Branch 144 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WEBBER, Ralph Calven James WWII Ralph was born in Port Walls, NS, in 1926. He was a Private in the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. Ralph passed away in 1946. Submitted by Four Harbours Branch 120 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WEEKS, Ralph A. WWII Ralph was born in Ship Harbour, NS. He served with District Depot C.A. in Halifax, the UK and Continental Europe. He received the France & Germany Star and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He served from 1944-1946, and enrolled again in 1948. He was posted in Fort Churchill, Manitoba, for three years until his death in 1951.
