Theodore passed away on July 15, 2000. Submitted by Clare Branch 052, The Royal Canadian Legion. CONNOLLY, Wellington Earl WWII Earl was born in Bible Hill, NS, on July 18, 1913. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained as a Gunner in BC. He then went to England and joined the 419th Squadron and made his first tour of duty on June 5, 1942 as a forward Gunner in a Wellington Bomber. Earl was promoted to a P.O. then later to F.O. He completed his tour then transferred to 405th Squadron of Lancasters for his second tour. He was shot down on February 13, 1945 over Dresden and is buried in Durnback War Cemetery in Germany. He married Iris L. Taylor and had one son, Earl Jr., who both lived in England. Submitted by Ronald F. Boyce, Colchester Branch 026 of The Royal Canadian Legion. CONRAD, Ronald Gray WWII Ronald was born in Hemford, Lunenburg County, NS, on July 18, 1920, and served with the R.C.E.M.E. Engineers in the UK and Continental Europe. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Ronald passed away on July 24, 1961. Submitted by New Germany Branch 102 of The Royal Canadian Legion. CONNOLLY, Charles WWII Charles was born in Bible Hill, NS, on August 8, 1910, to parents Jay and Louise Connolly. He joined the Army in New Glasgow on September 15, 1941 and was sent to Depot in Halifax and then on to Yarmouth for basic training. On December 5, 1942, he went to Camp Petawawa, ON, then proceeded to Port of Embarkation on April 19, 1942, arriving in the UK on May 12, 1942. Charles was then transferred to the 2nd Canadian Artillery, Reinforcement Unit. He was awarded the Good Conduct Badge on September 15, 1943, and received his discharge on December 27, 1945. Charles passed away in Sudbury, ON on August 20, 1970 and is buried in Park Lawn Cemetery. Submitted by Colchester Branch 026 of The Royal Canadian Legion. CONRAD, Freeman WWI Conrad was born in Chester Basin, NS, on October 20, 1896. He enlisted with the 112th Overseas Expeditionary Force on January 10, 1916.
