CORMIER, Louis Leo WWII Louis was born in Cheticamp, NS, on October 8, 1914. Upon completion of college in Three Rivers, , Louis joined the Cape Breton Highlanders, R.C.I.C. On January 17, 1944, Lance Sergeant Louis Leo Cormier was killed in the Ortona Battle and is buried at the Moro River Canadian War Cemetery. His wife, Catherine Doucet from Grand Etang, NS, was left to raise five children on her own. She never remarried and passed away on July 7, 1981. He joined the Army in June 1943 and served with the 2nd Anti-Aircraft Battery in the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Holland. He remained in the UK with the Provost Corps after the war until his return to Canada in 1946. Laurie now resides in the VAC in Middleton. WWII William was born in Western Shore, NS, and still lives there. He served with the Nova Scotia Regiment in Canada, England and France from January 17, 1944 until November 1945. CORMIER, Paul Joseph WWII Paul was born in Boston, Mass, USA, on August 22, 1922. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada, the UK and Continental Europe.
