Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 71 GARRON, Robert “Bob” KOREA Bob was born in Yarmouth, NS, in 1934. He joined the R.C.H.A. Artillery and served in Korea, Germany and Canada, serving for thirty-two years before retiring to the Yarmouth area. He is the current Commander for Zone 12. Bob organized a drive within Zone 12 that brought in more than enough money to purchase a wheel chair van for Veterans Place in Yarmouth. Submitted by Wedgeport Branch 155 of The Royal Canadian Legion. GAUDET, Alphie WWI Alphie was born in St. Bernard, NS, in 1891. He enlisted in the Canadian Calvary in 1916 and served as a blacksmith. He passed away in Val-d’Or, PQ in 1953. Submitted by Middleton Branch 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. GAUDET, Donald J. KOREA Donald was born in Charlestown, Mass, USA, on March 6, 1928. He served with the 213th Field Artillery Battalion, C. Battery APO 301 in Korea. He received the United Nations Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the Bronze Service Medal “Star.” Submitted by Clare Branch 052 of The Royal Canadian Legion. GATES, Ira WWII Ira was born in Blandford, NS, in 1925. He served with the R.C.S.C. in Europe. Submitted by F. E. Butler Branch 044 of The Royal Canadian Legion. GAUDET, Charles Thomas WWII Thomas was born in Comeauville, NS, in 1919. He served with the Canadian Forces Dental Services in Canada and Egypt. He received the CD Medal.
