Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 21 BOUTILIER, Arthur Lloyd MacDonald WWI &WWII Lloyd was born in 1895 in England at Burton-on-Trent and came to Nova Scotia as a British Home Child when he was three years old. He served in WWI with the Royal Canadian Engineers, Signals and enlisted in WWII and served again with the RCE, this time as Foreman of Works, Staff Sergeant. He married Marjorie Scott Webster, lived in Middle Stewiacke, and had two sons who served in WWII. He passed away in 1972. Submitted by the Stewiacke Valley Historical Society. BOUTILIER, David Maxwell WWII David, son of Lloyd and Marjorie (Webster) Boutilier of Middle Stewiacke, was born in 1924 and enlisted with the Royal Canadian Engineers as a dispatch rider serving overseas and joined the 3rd Division in Europe with the 21st Army Group, Royal Engineers and the 33rd Field Company, Royal Canadian Engineers and served in the UK, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. After the war, he re-enlisted in the Canadian Military serving in Canada until 1966. Submitted by the Stewiacke Valley Historical Society. BOUTILIER, Kenneth Rudolph WWII & KOREA Kenneth, son of Lloyd and Marjorie (Webster) Boutilier of Middle Stewiacke, was born in 1925. He tried to enlist at the beginning of WWII but was found to be underage. When he became of age, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served in the Corvettes crossing the Atlantic. He also served in the Korean War. Kenneth passed away in 2005. Submitted by the Stewiacke Valley Historical Society. BOUTILIER, Joan A. PEACETIME Joan was born in Englehart, ON, in 1936 and joined the WREN-RCN serving on the HMCS Cornwallis, the Gloucester, the Shelburne and the Stadacona.
