PEACETIME John was born at Moose Jaw, SK on October 30, 1928 and joined the Royal Canadian Navy on July 2, 1946 and served at various Canadian Bases as well as ships on both coasts and in the UK. He retired Base Chief Warrant Officer at CFB Greenwood on July 7, 1977. John is a long time member of Branch # 001 and now resides in Margaretville, NS. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. FREEMAN (OSMOND), Olive M. WWII Olive was born in Carbonear, NL on February 24, 1925 and was the youngest daughter of Arthur and Olivia (Clark) Osmond. She joined the CWAC in Halifax on July 14, 1943 and served as a Rank-Lance Corporal and trained as a secretary. She was discharged on May 7, 1946 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the 1939-45 Medal. Olive married Paul E. Freeman and moved to Caledonia where she lived most of her married life and raised three children. Olive passed away on July 5, 2006. Submitted by the A. L. Patterson Branch #087 of The Royal Canadian Legion. GAUDETTE, Reginald A. WWII Reginald was born in 1925 and joined the Carleton York Regiment serving in England and Continental Europe. He had been a Life Member of the Digby Branch #020 for 46 years. He passed away in 2004. Submitted by the Digby Branch #020 of The Royal Canadian Legion. GAUDET, Elias A. WWII & KOREA & PEACETIME Elias was born in Arichat, NS on December 7, 1920 and joined the 1st Division, 3rd Brigade WWII and the 4th RCHA Korea serving in Italy, Holland, France, Germany, Belgium and England. He married Lillian Linden and raised 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. Elias received the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the France/Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp, the War Medal 1939-45, the Korea Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Canadian Forces Decoration and the Queen’s Coronation Medal.
