HANDSPIKER, Garnet WWII Garnet was born in Digby, NS in 1916 and joined the West Nova Scotia Regiment serving in England and Continental Europe. HARRISON, Leslie Lonsdale WWI Leslie was attached to No. 6 Artillery Depot Siege Overseas Section, C.E.F. and applied for commission on August 15 with the 1st Regiment Canadian Garrison Artillery and received commission as Lieutenant and sent to Outforts, Halifax on November 22, 1916, qualified in Siege Artillery on May 5, 1917, promoted to Captain on October 9, 1918 and reverted to Lieutenant and transferred to No. 10 Siege battery at own request but was retained for the Outfort duties owing to scarcity of C.D. Officers. It was recommended that he be given former rank and was war battery Commander Connaught Battery from April 24, 1916 until November 25, 1918. WWII Gerald was born in Culloden, Digby County, NS in 1907 and joined the Merchant Navy and served on the High seas, Ireland, Iceland and England. He was a Life Member of the Digby Branch #020 for 57 years. Gerald passed away in 2005. Submitted by the Digby Branch #020 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
