Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 127 INNES, Errol WWI Errol enlisted with the R.C.G.A. on August 5, 1914 and was transferred to the 14th Ammunition Column for overseas on September 15, 1916 and was then transferred to the 66th Battery and went to France as a driver on August 19, 1917. He was wounded on September 22, 1918 in the capture of Cambrai and was still in France when the Armistice was signed. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. INNES, Gordon WWI Gordon enlisted with the 1st Depot Battalion in March 1918 and left for overseas in April, 1918 and was transferred to the famous 25th Battalion and was wounded on November 10, 1918. JARVIS, Harry Chymist WWII Harry was born in Halifax, NS in 1919 and enlisted in the Army Service Corps in June 1940 and was honourably discharged in February 1946. Harry was with the Pictou Highlanders and served in Canada, England, France, Italy, Sicily, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Italian Star, the France/Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the C.V.S.M. and the 1939-45 Volunteer Service Medal. Harry was employed with the Department of Transportation as an electronics technician for 30 years. He married Clara MacDonald and they raised two sons. Harry passed away on September 8, 2003. JACKSON, Alfred Henry WWI Alfred enlisted in 1916 in the Ammunition Column and went to France where he was engaged in the hazardous work of bringing ammunition to the various dumps and from there distributing it over shell torn roads to the firing line. The dumps and communication lines were under constant aerial and artillery attack from the enemy but Alfred managed to carry one during the last years of the war.
