WWII Frank was born on November 19, 1904 in Milton, NS and enlisted on October 4, 1939 and was a dispatcher rider with the West Novies and served in Canada, Britain and the Central Mediterranean area. He was shell shot and received an honourable discharge on May 3, 1944, Frank received the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp and the War Medal 1939-45. He married Nora Anthony on June 24, 1931 and had four children, Ernie, Myrtle, Alma and Irene. Frank passed away on December 5,1966 at the Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, NS. Submitted by the A. L. Patterson Branch #087 of The Royal Canadian Legion. KEARNS, J.P. WWI J.P. of Halifax enlisted in June 1915 in the American Legion at Winnipeg and later transferred to the R.C.R. at Halifax and sailed for England in March, 1916 and to France the following August. In December, he was gassed and sent to and English hospital and after treatment returned to the front line and was wounded again in the Fall of 1917 and sent to various hospitals in England. KEHOE (BOWEN), Helen Noren WWII Helen was born in Rocky Bay, NS in 1921 and joined the RCAF in August 1942 at the age of 21 in Sydney, NS and was posted to Rockcliffe in Ottawa for training and then to Guelph, Ontario to #8 service flying school for more training and then to Wayburn, SK and to Sydney where she stayed until her discharge on February 4, 1945. She received the 1939-45 War Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Bar. Helen has been a member of the Isle Madame Branch #150 for 39 years, Submitted by the Isle Madame Branch #150 of The Royal Canadian Legion. KEEFE, Carmen Clifford WWI Carmen enlisted on February 21, 1916 when only 14 years old and trained at Halifax and went overseas in October 1916. Arriving in England he was first stationed at Witley Camp, Surrey and then transferred to the 17th Reserve Battalion at Bramshott and shortly after was placed in the Young Soldier’s Battalion and returned from France on November 26, 1918 and was discharged from service about a month later.
